Return Policy

All pieces are made to order and therefore non-refundable.  If there is an issue with your order we will be happy to work with you to come to a solution.  Since all of our items are handmade, there may be variations between or even within an order.

Items that have a mechanical issue or manufacturer's defect will be reprinted and re-shipped to the customer.  A mechanical issue in most cases means a flaw in the product that prevents it from being used for its intended purpose.

In order to resolve issues with an order, the issue must be reported to us within 14 days of receiving the order.  When contacting us with an issue, be sure to include photos that illustrate the problem.  Email us at info@oftheblu.com

Cancellations

If there is an error with your order you can cancel the order within 6 hours of placing it.  Once an order has started production we can no longer make changes or cancel it.

Natural Fabric Care Instructions

Silk is self-cleaning.  Wash your silk as little as possible to maintain its original lustre, colour and to avoid signs of wear and tear.  You can steam, air out your garment or use a delicate fabric refreshing spray to reduce washes.  Spot clean immediately to remove stains.  Hand-washing is recommended.  Use a laundry bag for machine washing.

Our silk charmeuse scarves are printed with reactive inks.  Reactive inks are permanent but can be sensitive to washing the first couple of times.

For the first wash, wash with 1 cup of vinegar and 2 teaspoons of salt in a washing machine full of water at a maximum of 30 degrees.  Do not use a reduced water cycle.

Important: Dry immediately after washing.  Leaving item wet, wrinkled or folded may result in transfer stains.

Hang flat to avoid creases and wrinkles.

For subsequent washing, use an enzyme-free, phosphate-free, pH-neutral detergent and a full water cycle.  Enzymes in regular detergents break down protein-based fibers like silk.  Do not use bleach or fabric softener.  Wash separately from other laundry for 2-4 washes.  Expect some minor shrinking.
